Baeka aka P. A Qvick, Zapfe and Dorian return to Piston Recordings with the superb, Bring It Back, Your Love EP. This one follows their debut here - Hold And Love Me. Named after the 70s underground artist, Baeka Buick, they started out some years ago with a view to create their own brand of psychedelic house music. Now, they are one of Sweden's finest acts, with a style that fuses, dub-jazz, dub-house, cut-up-disco and basically, cut-up-everything. They've been unleashing their brand of psychedelia since 2003 and have amassed an impressive back catalogue on several labels. A pleasure to have them back for more.
We kick things off with the title track, Bring It Back, Your Love, a solid slice of dancey deep house. Nice, punchy beats lead as powerful piano chords deliver that pure club sound with a hint of retro vibes. Cool vocals add character as the bassline force the hips to sway. Feel It Baby takes a minimal approach, with a groovy breaks drum arrangement. Lush basses infect the soul as blippy arpeggios run through the groove. Funky stabs and a catchy vocal complete the construction, making this a definite floor mover. You Got My Body rounds out the release, delivering an upbeat groove to keep the body moving. Tight beats and a relentless plucky bassline combine with sweeping FX, delicate melodies and cool vocals, the perfect ingredients for maximum impact, a must have no doubt.
